Private, 6th (Service) Battalion, The Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, 60 Brigade, 20th Division. Army no 32762. He had also served as Private, Army no 2471 with (The Chipping Norton Company,) The Queen’s Own Oxfordshire Hussars.
He was killed in action on Saturday 7 October 1916. He was 27.
He was the son of Charles W and Mary E Benfield.
He is remembered on the Thiepval Memorial.

He died from his wounds on Tuesday 7 August 1917. He had probably been wounded in the fighting near Ypres. He was 23.
He was the son of Charles W and Mary E Benfield.
He is buried in St. Sever Cemetery Extension, Rouen.

He had been discharged from the Army as a result of his wounds and awarded the Silver War Badge on Thursday 25 September 1919. He died at home from pulmonary Tuberculosis in 1921 probably in May. He was 21.
He was the son of Charles W and Mary E Benfield.
He is buried in Chipping Norton Cemetery.

CLARKE, Frederic Thomas
Private, D Company, 2nd /1st (City of London) Battalion, London Regiment (Royal Fusiliers). Army no. 225421. He had also served as Private, Army no 4719 with The Royal West Surrey Regiment.
He died on Saturday 29 December 1917 from the wounds he had received. He was 20.
He was the son of Herbert William and Mary Caroline Clarke, Laburnum Cottage, Over Norton.
He is buried in Mendinghem Military Cemetery, Belgium. and his headstone is inscribed One of God’s Best
HARRISON, Henry
Private, 5th (Service) Battalion, The Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, 42 Brigade, 14th Division. Army no 27796.
He was killed in action on Thursday 3 May 1917 at the third battle of the Scarpe. He was 36.
He was the husband of Laura Harrison, 52 West Street, Chipping Norton.
He is remembered on the Arras Memorial.
KEEN, Frank
Private, 8th Battalion, Princess Charlotte of Wales’s Regiment, (The Royal Berkshire Regiment), 53 Brigade, 18th Division. Army no 220276. He had also served as Private, Army no 202748 with The Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire Light Infantry.
He was killed in action on Wednesday 23 October 1918 in the Battle of the Selle. He was 20.
He was the son of Joseph and Patience Keen, Chapel House, Over Norton.
He is buried in the Highland Cemetery, Le Cateau.

He was killed in action on Wednesday 1 May 1918. He was 30.
He was the son of William and Rose Knight, 10 Guildhall Place, Chipping Norton and the husband of Annie Maria Knight, 8 Over Norton.
He is buried in Cabaret-Rouge British Cemetery near Arras.
MOULDER, Frederick J

He was killed in action at the battle of Gheluvelt on Saturday 31 October 1914. He was 29.

He died on Saturday 15 September 1917 of wounds received during Third Ypres. He was 19.
He was the son of Albert Edward and Elizabeth Saunders, The Post Office, Over Norton
He is buried in Mendinghem Military Cemetery in Belgium and his headstone is inscribed In the midst of Life we are in Death.
WEBB, Samuel James
Serjeant, 25th (Garrison) Battalion, The Duke of Cambridge’s Own (Middlesex Regiment), 213 Brigade. Army no G/39394.
He died of Dysentery on Friday 13 September 1918. His Battalion had been posted to Siberia arriving there on 3 August 1918. He was 42.
He was the husband of Rose Hannah Webb, Bledington, Kingham.
He is remembered on the Vladivostok Memorial and he buried in Churkin Naval Cemetery in Vladivostok.

He is buried in Imphal War Cemetery and his headstone is inscribed Here Lies A Soldier Brave and True Who Gave His Life for Me and You.
